About the 3D Interop

3D InterOp is not an end-user CAD software, but rather a powerful software development toolkit (SDK) created by Spatial. It provides robust capabilities for reading, writing, and exchanging 2D and 3D CAD data, including exact B-rep geometry, tessellated geometry, product manufacturing information (PMI), and metadata, across a vast array of proprietary and neutral CAD formats (e.g., CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, NX, Inventor, Revit, STEP, IGES, JT, Parasolid, IFC). Its primary purpose is to enable independent software vendors (ISVs) and manufacturing companies to integrate high-quality CAD data translation and interoperability features directly into their own applications without needing native CAD licenses. This ensures seamless data flow for downstream engineering applications like CAM, CAE, CMM, and visualization tools, improving data integrity and reducing development risk.
