About the Accumulo

Apache Accumulo is a distributed, sorted, key-value store based on Google's Bigtable design. It is built on top of the Apache Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), Apache ZooKeeper, and Apache Thrift. Accumulo's key features include cell-level security, allowing fine-grained access control on a per-cell basis, and server-side programming mechanisms called iterators that enable efficient data processing at the server level. It is designed for high-performance, real-time read/write access to large datasets with robust security and is used in a variety of fields that handle sensitive big data.
