About the Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC)

Amazon VPC enables users to create a logically isolated section of the AWS Cloud to launch AWS resources such as EC2 instances and RDS databases in a customizable virtual network. It closely resembles a traditional network you operate in a data center but benefits from AWS cloud scalability and security. Key features include customizable IP address ranges, subnets (public and private), route tables, internet gateways, NAT gateways, network access control lists (NACLs), security groups, VPN connectivity, VPC peering, transit gateways, and flow logs. VPC allows businesses to securely manage cloud resource communications, isolate network traffic, and extend on-premises networks to the cloud securely and reliably.
