About the ARCore

ARCore, also known as Google Play Services for AR, is a software development kit (SDK) developed by Google that enables developers to build augmented reality (AR) applications for Android and iOS devices. It allows phones to sense their environment, understand the world around them, and interact with digital information, seamlessly integrating virtual content with the real world. ARCore utilizes three key technologies: Motion Tracking (to understand and track device position), Environmental Understanding (to detect surfaces like horizontal, vertical, and angled planes), and Light Estimation (to estimate ambient lighting for realistic virtual object rendering). It provides SDKs for popular development environments like Android (Java/Kotlin, NDK), Unity (AR Foundation), Unreal Engine, and Web (WebXR).
