AWS Global Accelerator leverages AWS' private global network to route traffic to the nearest healthy endpoints, minimizing internet latency and improving transfer speeds up to 60% for user requests. It provides two static IPv4 or IPv6 addresses as fixed entry points to your applications, simplifying IP allow-listing and eliminating DNS caching delays. The service supports routing traffic to Network Load Balancers, Application Load Balancers, EC2 instances, and Elastic IPs across multiple AWS Regions. It offers fast failover between regions and customizable traffic dial and weighting to finely control traffic distribution. Use cases include globally distributed APIs, gaming, media streaming, IoT, and disaster recovery solutions.
