About the AWS IoT Events

AWS IoT Events is a fully managed AWS service that allows users to easily monitor IoT devices and applications for specific events and automatically trigger actions when those events occur. It enables customers to detect significant changes in data from multiple IoT sensors and applications, such as equipment failures, environmental deviations, or operational changes, by defining conditional logic using "if-then-else" statements. Key features include the ability to ingest data from various sources (AWS IoT Core, AWS IoT Analytics, or direct APIs), define "detector models" to represent device states and event logic, and trigger a wide range of actions. These actions can include sending notifications (SMS, email), invoking AWS Lambda functions for custom tasks, or integrating with other AWS services like Amazon SQS, Kinesis Data Firehose, AWS IoT SiteWise, and Amazon SNS. AWS IoT Events aims to help businesses proactively monitor their equipment, prevent downtime, improve operational efficiency, and implement automated responses in industrial, consumer, and commercial IoT scenarios.
