Azure Virtual Network is a foundational component of Azure Cloud that enables users to create isolated, secure, and scalable cloud networks. It allows Azure resources like virtual machines (VMs) and containers to communicate securely with each other, on-premises networks, and the internet. Azure VNet supports subnet segmentation, customizable IP address ranges, route tables, network security groups (NSGs) for traffic filtering, VPN Gateway for site-to-site connections, ExpressRoute for private connections, and integration with Azure Firewall and Application Gateway. VNet also supports peering between VNets across regions, making it suitable for building hybrid cloud architectures, disaster recovery systems, and large-scale application deployments.
