About the CREDEBL

CREDEBL is an open-source, population-scale platform for Decentralized Identity (DID) and Verifiable Credentials (VC) management. As a Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust project and a recognized Digital Public Good (DPG), CREDEBL aims to simplify and secure the management of digital identities by empowering individuals with Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI). It provides tools for digital credential issuance and verification, built on open standards (W3C DIDs and VCs, Hyperledger Indy, Aries), supporting multiple ledgers (Indy, Polygon) and ledger-less issuance (did:web, did:key, did:peer). CREDEBL is used in national digital ID projects (e.g., Bhutan NDI, SevisPass Digital ID in Papua New Guinea) and offers a microservices architecture, a web-based Studio UI, and a Mobile SDK (ADEYA Mobile SDK) for building SSI-enabled applications. It emphasizes privacy-by-design and scalability for enterprise and national-level deployments.
