About the Deep Discovery Inspector

Trend Micro Deep Discovery Inspector (DDI) is a network appliance designed to provide comprehensive visibility and advanced threat detection across the entire network. It continuously monitors all network ports and over 100 protocols for signs of targeted attacks, advanced threats, ransomware, zero-day exploits, and other evasive attacker activities that might bypass traditional security defenses. DDI utilizes specialized detection engines, including custom sandbox analysis, to identify unknown malware, Command & Control (C&C) communications, and lateral movement. Its custom sandboxing capability allows for virtual images that precisely match an organization's system configurations, applications, and language versions, making it harder for advanced threats to evade detection. DDI can be deployed as a physical or virtual appliance and integrates with other Trend Micro products (like Vision One and Deep Discovery Analyzer) and third-party security solutions to provide a layered defense and accelerate incident response.
