PhotoModeler is a sophisticated software application that performs image-based modeling and close-range photogrammetry, enabling users to create precise 3D models, measurements, and 2D drawings directly from photographs. It utilizes standard digital cameras, including DSLRs, and can even work with some mobile phone cameras, making it a cost-effective solution for accurate 3D data acquisition. The software offers various methods for processing, including manual marking, automated coded target detection, and SmartMatch/Dense Surface Modeling (DSM) for generating dense point clouds from overlapping photos. PhotoModeler is widely used across diverse industries such as forensics, manufacturing, engineering, surveying, architecture, archaeology, and film production for tasks like accident reconstruction, stockpile volume measurement, 2D template digitization, and creating as-built documentation.
