About the Squid

Squid functions as a caching proxy server for HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, and other protocols, storing frequently accessed web content to reduce load times and bandwidth usage. It supports extensive access control lists (ACLs), IP anonymization, load balancing, clustering, traffic interception, and script blocking. Squid can be configured to restrict access by IP, content type, time of day, and supports multiple authentication methods (LDAP, RADIUS, etc.). Its advanced features include transparent caching, interception via WCCP, dynamic content caching, and integration with ICAP/eCAP protocols.
