About the Titan

Titan was a distributed, open-source, and transactional graph database designed for massive-scale graphs with billions of vertices and edges. It was built to provide real-time, online transaction processing (OLTP) capabilities by using a pluggable architecture that allowed it to connect to distributed data stores like Apache Cassandra or Apache HBase. Titan was a native implementation of the Apache TinkerPop stack, which gave it a standard API and a powerful traversal language called Gremlin for querying and manipulating graph data.
