About the Trello

Trello is a web-based project management application developed originally by Fog Creek Software and later spun out as Trello, Inc. It was created by Joel Spolsky and Michael Pryor to simplify task tracking using boards, lists, and cards. Trello offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface for task assignment, status tracking, deadline setting, and file attachments. Since its launch, Trello has expanded with integrations, Power-Ups, automation through Butler, and support for enterprise teams. Atlassian acquired Trello in January 2017, and it is now part of the Atlassian suite alongside Jira and Confluence. Trello is known for its scalability, ease of use across industries, and extensive integration ecosystem. As of 2025, Trello boasts millions of daily active users worldwide.
