Varnish Software originated from a project started to optimize web content delivery for the Norwegian newspaper VG Multimedia, led by Poul-Henning Kamp. Varnish Cache revolutionized HTTP acceleration by caching dynamic content efficiently, reducing backend loads, and dramatically improving site performance. Since its inception, Varnish Cache has evolved to power over 10 million websites globally.
